The State Council recently released the fourth batch of representative cultural practices and an expanded directory of national-level intangible cultural heritage. The traditional Chinese medicine preparations of the Kunming Chinese Medicine Factory Co in the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone were on the list of "traditional medicines".

The Kunming Chinese Medicine Factory Co can be tracked back to the beginning of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and is one of the most time-honored TCM enterprises in China. For hundreds of years, with the inheritance and development of exquisite pharmacy skills, plus a combination of TCM and traditional medicines of ethnic groups in Yunnan province, the company has produced several effective preparations.

The company has been working on TCM conservation in recent years through brand building, flow line production and favored treatments for senior experienced workers and it has achieved remarkable results.

The head of the company said that they would spare no efforts to inherit and carry forward the valuable cultural heritage and make their contribution to public health and the conservation of traditional Chinese culture.
