Cheng Guoping, the deputy foreign minister led a delegation and visited Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone in Toutunhe district in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Aug 21.
The delegation moved around district's image exhibition hall where they got detailed idea on the development of local areas.
The visitors were also showed around high speed railway station construction site. Knowing that the high speed railway will shorten the traveling time from Xinjiang to Beijing to 16 hours, the guests praised the rapid development of the district and said that convenient transportation will facilitate better communication between Xinjiang and the inland.
In addition to high speed railway station, Toutunhe is also constructing its tourism distribution and long-distance bus station in order to improve the condition of district's transportation.
