A group of journalists and staff from prominent overseas Chinese media visited Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone, in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on Aug 28.

The 31 participants, led by the press and publicity department of the Overseas Chinese Affairs of the State Council, moved around districs landmarks such as high-speed railway station, Imagine Exhibition Hall and Ecological Park.

Chen Shirong, general editor of Foremost 4 Media, said that great changes have happened to Xinjiang since his first visit two years ago.

Looking over the high-sped railway station, which is still under construction, Chen said, "I bet such a large transportation hub can be seldom found in China, and this trip makes me long to introduce Xinjiang's new image to the world through my pens and lens."

Participants spoke highly of Xinjiang Goldwind Science and Technology Co. after learning that the company leads the country in terms of installed capacity for wind energy.

Yang Yanchun, the vice-editor of Hong Kong magazine Oriental Business, said, "It's remarkable that the energy conversion efficiency is 97.5 percent at Goldwind Co., I have never seen such high conversion rate before."
