As one of nine functional zones in Binhai New District, Tianjin Port Economy Zone has developed into a modern industry cluster base.
It has been incorporated into an outline of the “11th Five-year Plan”, Tianjin Overall Urban Planning (2005-2020), Overall Urban Planning of Binhai New District, Tianjin (2005-2020) and Tianjin Marine Functional Zoning.
To develop the Port Industry Zone is government strategy to develop Binhai New District, and seek an innovative path forhigh-end new industrial structure.
It has played a role in upgrading Binhai New District as international high-level equipment manufacturing and R&D conversion bases.
