Tai'an, East China's Shandong province has a robust intelligent manufacturing industry and cultivated some leading companies in the field.

The Shandong Companion Group, founded in 1998 is a complex of new spinning material, processing of spinning-weaving-dyeing-finishing and manufacture of equipment for dyeing and finishing.

The company has built an intelligent dyeing factory to realize digital and intelligent production of dyeing. Compared with traditional dyeing, the pass rate is increased from 70 percent to over 98 percent and its production efficiency is increased by 28 percent. The company's digital automatic cone dyeing factory has an annual output of 200,000 tons.

The group has jointly with Donghua University built a national printing and dyeing technology innovation center which will be the only national level manufacturing innovation center in the field of printing and dyeing, as well as the first of its kind to be approved for construction in Shandong province.

For construction industry, the city also promoted the use of environmental protection and energy saving materials to promote the quality of buildings.

The Tai'an-based Shandong Road New Material Co mainly produces new materials for infrastructure construction such as glass fiber geogrid, and terylene warp knitting geogrid to instead rebar.

These materials were included the first batch of 15 typical energy-saving products recognized by the Energy Conservation Center of National Development and Reform Commission.

Officials said that the company's products have been sold to more than 30 countries and regions. More than 1,000 national key projects have used its new materials for the construction, including the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and Xiongan New Area projects.

The booming intelligent manufacturing industry will provide a good foundation for promoting promote the coordinated development of the Shandong provincial capital economic circle, which includes Jinan, the provincial capital, and six neighboring cities – Zibo, Tai'an, Liaocheng, Dezhou, Binzhou, and Dongying.

Moving forward, the city will focus on developing six fields including high-end power transmission equipment, new energy vehicles, high-end CNC machine tools and robots, as well as artificial intelligence.

It will make efforts to cultivate industrial clusters of power transmission equipment and mining equipment to develop into a city with strong high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing industries in Shandong.
