The Supreme People's Court (SPC) released five typical cases involving crimes against epidemic prevention and control on April 29, in order to safeguard public health and economic development.

The cases involve behaviors jeopardizing the prevention and control of infectious diseases, inbound passengers failing to truthfully fill in health declaration forms, acts of making and selling false nucleic acid test reports, offenders assaulting police officers at vaccination sites, as well as fabrication and deliberate spread of false epidemic information. The Omicron sub-variants have brought new challenges to epidemic prevention and control, and these offenses have made the situation worse. To fully implement the central authorities' instructions on pandemic control, courts across the nation have imposed sterner punishments on related crimes, providing a strong judicial guarantee for regular epidemic prevention and control.
