The Supreme People's Court (SPC) and the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) held a press conference on Oct 25 to issue judicial interpretations of several issues concerning the application of law in handling information networks-related crimes.

The interpretations specify the range of network service providers who might find themselves accused of the crime of refusing to perform the duty to safely manage information networks. They also outline the behaviors that constitute the crime of illegally using information networks.

In addition, the document sets out the scenarios where it can be inferred that a person knowingly assisted in information network-related crimes.

It also provides for ways to prevent people who committed information network-related crimes from recommitting them.

The press conference was hosted by SPC’s Spokesperson Li Guangyu, and attended by Jiang Qibo, director of the SPC’s Research Office, as well as officials from the SPP and the Ministry of Public Security.
