Luo Dongchuan, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), met with Emmanuel Gaillard, president of the Association for International Arbitration (AIA) and a member of SPC's International Commercial Expert Committee (ICEC), in Beijing on Mar 26, 2019.

Luo welcomed the delegation led by Gaillard. He briefly introduced the SPC's launch of International Commercial Court and the ICEC, the establishment of a one-stop platform for resolving international commercial disputes, and judicial examination of arbitration.

Luo said that Chinese courts pay attention to arbitration development and exchange and learn various nations' experience on the construction of international commercial court systems, which is conducive to proper resolving disputes in the field.

Gaillard expressed his gratitude for Luo's hospitality and spoke highly of the great efforts China has made on the launch of international court to settle commercial disputes, adding he is honored to be among the first committee members to be included in the ICEC.

Luo and Gaillard exchanged their ideas on the theories and practices of international commercial arbitration.
