China's top court has released a judicial interpretation on the newly-revised criminal cases of illegal practice of medicine.

The new judicial explanation will come into effect on Dec 20.

The revision is aimed at better safeguarding the health and life of the people and adapting to changes in judicial practices.

The new edition deletes the second item under article one, and adds an article four. The new article explains the connection of illegal practice of medicine to patient death under two differing situations.

According to the new explanation, "medical activities" and "medical behavior" should be taken with reference to "diagnosis and treatment" and "medical cosmetology" in the regulation of medical institutions.
