China's top tribunal called for deepening research in judicial cases and improving the guidance of typical cases in judicial practices in Beijing on Sept 30.

The China Judicial Case Online service was also opened on the same day.

"The SPC has been paying great attention to the research and guidance of typical judicial cases," said Zhou. "The guidance system has been improving through new and relevant rules and regulations."

"It has effectively promoted the unified standard in the application of law."

Zhou said that Internet Plus and innovative technology offered a great opportunity for the research of judicial cases, adding that various information methods, such as big data and cloud computing, should also be employed to"open a new chapter in the work".

Releasing typical cases will contribute to making relevant laws more stable and predictable, according to Zhou. It will help ordinary people believe in law and turn to it to solve disputes.

Research into cases from both home and abroad can boost international communication, which offers a solid foundation for Chinese enterprises to go global or deal with other companies along the Belt and Road Initiative.

The research promises to support the socialist judicial system with Chinese characteristics and be conducive to global governance.

At the ceremony, Zhou gave letters of appointment to leading researchers with the academy.
