A professional workshop for promoting judicial communication and exchanges between China and the UK was held in Beijing on May 25.

Themed "justice in the new century", the third UK-China Judicial Roundtable brought together judges from both countries, focused on how to put e-courts into practice and how to increase cooperation in the judicial system.

An e-court is a new style of court that enables litigants to file a lawsuit and advance it online by electronic acceptance and provision of related materials.

Zhou Qiang, President of China’s top court, and his UK counterpart Lord Neuberger, addressed the opening and closing ceremonies.

The judicial roundtable between the two countries was established in 2014, and the annual conference is held by China and the UK in rotation.

China and the UK have cooperated in various judicial matters before. From 1998 to 2012, a judge educational exchange was conducted between the two countries.
