“The senior citizens will not only have homes in Taiyuan, but also in 30 cities across China,” said a manager in elderly care on Oct 31, when the migratory elderly care model made its debut in Shanxi province.

Migratory travelling, or time-sharing travelling, is getting popular among the elderly care models, allowing the elderly to enjoy cool summers in North China and warm winters in South China. Unlike ordinary travelling in hurry, seniors can spend at least 10 days in a place of their choosing, or even several months.

Over eighty seniors were the first group to experience such elderly care in Shanxi. In mid-November, they will start for Sanya, Hainan province, known for its pleasant winter.
