The Intellectual Property (IP) Information Service Center of Shanxi University (SXU) was recently selected in the third batch of national IP information service centers in universities, announced by the Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the General Office of the Ministry of Education.

Shanxi University's IP Information Service Center was established in January 2020 and it is located in the university library on campus, in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province.

Using the library's document and information resources and its experienced staff members, the center conducts work on patent novelty searches, retrievals, analyses, consultations, IP information literacy education, high-value patent cultivation and IP resources development.

It also provides information and intelligence support services for the university's IP achievements and high-value patent developments.

Currently, the center offers lectures and courses related to IP information, as well as analysis services.

Moving forwards, plans are for it to improve the quality of its IP information services, and provide support for collaborative innovation at the university and for industrial development in Shanxi province.
