The Quantum Materials Center of Shanxi University (SXU) was founded on May 6, financially backed by Shanxi High-Tech Huaye Electronic Group (Huaye).

Jia Suotang, president of SXU, expressed his gratitude to the company for their donations worth over 10 million yuan ($1.45 million).

"Huaye is an example of company which successfully transfers from its major business in the coal industry to the high-tech sector," Jia said. "The support of Huaye will help advance SXU’s scientific applications to industries."

Quantum materials are the core components of quantum devices and related high-tech industries in the future. The quantum material center is vital to the research and development of quantum devices and adds new support for the development of physics in SXU.
