Wang Zhijun, vice-president of Shanxi University, was invited to be one of the five international judges in the 13th Cow International Design Festival held in Ukraine, according to the organizing committee of the festival on Aug 2.

The other four judges include: Anita Kunz, from Canada; Zhijun Wang, from China; Francisco Valle, from Brazil; Mohammad Afshar, from Iran; and Lev Kaplan, from Germany.

Launched in 2013, this festival is one of the important comprehensive design exhibitions in Europe, and a global forum to display top-class designs from across the world.

Every year, it attracts designers and students from Europe, Asia, Australia and America, who come to attend this event held in Dnepropetrovsk of Ukraine, where competitions feature the design of illustrations, books, graphics, products, interior decorations and fashion.

Having specialized in the research of design arts and art education for around 20 years, Wang's works have been collected by museums from multiple countries.

In addition to the honor of being a judge for the competition, Wang has won a number of high-level national prizes.

His participation in the COW festival was due to his achievements in the academic field, reflecting the management and international orientation of our school, and our success at nurturing talent. This is also a significant boost for the college of fine arts in its program of overseas exchanges.
