Jinzhong city promotes investment projects in Shanghai

Jinzhong city of North China's Shanxi province signed 21 projects worth 47.65 billion yuan ($7.32 billion) with Shanghai on Apr 21, at a promotion event promoting Jinzhong's 108 corridor area held in Shanghai.

The Jinzhong city 108 Corridor Regional Integrated Development Demonstration Area (the Jinzhong 108 corridor area) refers to the area along National Highway 108 covering the Yuci district, Taigu county, Qi county, Pingyao county, Jiexiu city and Lingshi county.

Wu Xingbao, vice-director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, welcomed Jinzhong city in promoting its investment projects in Shanghai and said efforts will be made to advance cooperation between the two cities.

Jinzhong and Shanghai have a long partnership in industrial cooperation, said Chang Zhiren, executive vice-mayor of Jinzhong, pointing to the advantages of the city in equipment manufacturing, emerging industries, modern agriculture, and innovation.

The Jinzhong 108 Corridor Area can be divided into northern, middle, and southern parts with different investment focuses.

The northern part, covering the Jinzhong economic and technological development zone, Yuci industrial park, and the Yuci district, is concentrated on advanced equipment manufacturing and high-tech enterprises, including automobiles, hydraulic machinery, machining, and precision casting.

The middle part including Qi county, Taigu county, and Pingyao county will build a national tourist destination and a national modern agriculture demonstration area by developing culture, tourism, modern agriculture, glassware, food, and finance.

Jiexiu city and Lingshi county constitute the southern part of the Jinzhong 108 corridor area, and aim to introduce coal chemical, coal gasification, coal electrification, and new materials enterprises to become the province's green energy and new materials base.

The 21 inked project agreements that focus on different investment areas strengthen the positioning of each part of the corridor.

The Jinzhong 108 corridor area will accelerate integration and infrastructure construction to create a top-class environment for investment and innovation, said Feng Yaoli, head of the area's administration office.

As many as 85 enterprises across the country took part in the promotion event.
