Shanxi plans to push forward with construction of tourist roads related to the Yellow River, the Great Wall and Taihang Mountains in 2018, and expects to construct over 1,000 kilometers within the year.
The tourist roads project will commence within the year.
Trunk roads across Qikou ancient town in Lyuliang city and Qiankun Bay in Linfen city adjacent to the Yellow River, and a trunk road running across Lingchuan county which is located in Taihang Mountains will finish construction in 2018.
Governments of local cities and counties are encouraged to introduce public–private partnerships to fund the building of tourist roads, by integrating development of the roads with tourist attractions, land, and service areas along the roads.
Shanxi Transportation Holdings Group and other State-owned companies will join the investment, construction, operation and management of the tourist road project.
