Shanxi Staff Innovation and Invention Competition marked new progress in 2017 with a total of 161,000 inventions displayed during the event, among which 1,699 have successfully applied for patents, according to Shanxi Daily.
The competitions have drawn the participation of 5.26 million employees from all walks of life in the province.
Initiated in 2015 by the General Labor Union of Shanxi province, the Shanxi Staff Innovation and Invention Competition has expanded its area from industrial companies to various social groups, traditional industries to high-tech sectors, and business giants to small and medium-sized enterprises.
