Shanxi will promote pilot services combining traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and elderly nursing care across the province, according to the provincial health and family planning commission.
Local TCM hospitals will be encouraged to cooperate with nursing homes and rest homes, guiding the latter in carrying out TCM healthcare services and exploring new methods of elderly care based on TCM.
Tourism programs, services and products themed around TCM healthcare will be launched.
Also, Shanxi will strengthen the training of TCM professionals. For example, the province will establish a national TCM master studio and 27 grassroots studios where experienced TCM experts will share their expertise with young people engaged in the TCM industry and nursing industry.
