Shanxi province's delegation to the fifth session of the 12th National People's Congress held a plenary session to debate the Government Work Report on March 5.
Ma Kai, vice-premier of the State Council and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee joined the session and expressed his approval for the Government Work Report, as well as giving his best wishes to Shanxi province.
"Shanxi insisted on the implementation of supply-side structural reforms last year and reversed the downward regional economic trend. The provincial government should further carry out new development concepts and reform the coal industry and State-owned enterprises to boost industrial transformation and economic upgrading," he said.
Representatives exchanged ideas on all aspects of technological and industrial innovation, environmental protection and governance, supply-side structural reforms in transportation and the cutting of excess capacity in the coal industry.
Officials from the General Office of the State Council, the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance attended the discussion to hear suggestions and proposals.
