Shanxi province will be pushing a pollution treatment program, province-wide, the environmental protection department announced, on June 23 where the rule is that the person or entity responsible for the pollution will have to pay for it, and the third party environmental services enterprise will be responsible for the professional pollution treatment under a contract.
This does not mean, however, that the governmental will decrease its supervision of pollution, but rather that environmental authorities will have tougher penalties for polluters and that continued, stable environmental protection and monitoring will be the focus.
At the same time, environmental authorities will improve the supervisory system of the third party environmental service supplier with a certain amount of credit extended to them, and with those that fail to meet standards being made known to the public.
The provincial plan calls for a unified, open third party environmental pollution treatment market by 2020 to make pollution control more efficient and professional, and the province will encourage subsidies and awards for third party treatment projects, with preferential tax policies for the suppliers.
