China (Taiyuan) Coal Transaction Center organized a symposium of coal demanders on Dec 23, attracting representatives from China Huadian Corporation, the State Grid, Ansteel Group, Shougang Group, Hebei Iron & Steel Group, Angang Group and Shandong Iron & Steel Group. The meeting was presided over by Gao Fa, deputy director of the transaction center.
The meeting served as a platform for participants to discuss the developments of the coal market in and outside of China, analyze relevant policies and factors that affect demand and supply and facilitate companies' trade. Some representatives said they were happy about their cooperation with the transaction center in 2014 and will strengthen the relationship in 2015.
Some said in spite of changes in the market, a long-term relationship of strategic cooperation will benefit both suppliers and demanders. Others said the trade index at the Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center served as a reference for pricing, hoping the index will generate larger and longer influences.
