Four of Shanxi province’s industrial bases recently got National Torch Special Industrial Base designation from the Science and Technology Ministry -- the Yongji Electronic and Machinery Industrial Base, Taiyuan NdFeB Material Industrial Base, Datong Pharmaceutical Industrial Base, and Yingze High-level Package, Equipment and Material Industrial Base. This brings the province’s total of these special industrial bases to five.

The National Torch Special Industrial Base system is a Science and Technology Ministry idea for industrial cluster development and innovation, based on high-tech industrial bases with a group of technology-oriented small-to-mid-size enterprises with their own industrial features, strong relations, industrial chains, higher technology level and strong innovative ability.
