An activity was held in Jiading district, Shanghai on Nov 27 to promote intellectual property rights (IPR) protection among children, according to a local news report.
The organizing committee also launched a cultural market to showcase creative and cultural products from Jiading's Malu town, all of which are original works by local artists.
In recent years, Jiading has been beefing up efforts to strengthen IPR protection in order to boost innovation and spur creativity in the district's pursuit of modernization.
The district has explored new ways to expand IPR protection from transitional areas such as books, newspapers and journals to cultural and creative industries.
Local authorities said that in order to improve people's awareness of?copyright, Jiading has launched a series of events such as legal consultancy services and major policy talks. As a result, the district has seen rapid growth in the number of copyright registrations over the past few years.
