Jiading district of Shanghai city recently released a list of projects to improve people's livelihoods for 2019. The projects cover a wide range, from employment, medical treatment and education to public infrastructure.

The district will create 23,000 employment positions, help 230 long-term jobless youths find jobs or start their own business and control the registered number of unemployed people within 5,650.

It will build or transform?10 standard activity rooms for senior citizens, install fault arc detectors for 3,500 rooms in institutions for the aged, and set up 20 "smart health rooms" where people can take physical examinations by themselves.

Barrier-free reconstruction will be carried out for 120 poverty-stricken households that have disabled members. Information attendants from 75 medical organizations will accept sign language training, and 20 service centers will be set up to ensure people with hearing impairment receive medical care. To improve people's health, the district will arrange disease screening for 40,000 citizens and arrange emergency skill training for 10,000 people. Ten projects of fitness physical exercise facilities will be carried out. The district will also arrange fitness training for 20,000 citizens and provide physical fitness tests for 10,000 citizens.

The district will open five schools and play digital movies in rural areas 6,000 times, and put on 62 lectures. It will also build new bus shelters and parking lots, open new bus lines, and install advanced equipment to improve transportation conditions.

The old residential quarters would also go through inspection and transportation improvements, and charging facilities for electric bicycles will be installed in 30 residential communities.
