The Licang session of the 28th Qingdao International Beer Festival opened in grand style on Aug 4 at the Qingdao Horticultural Expo Park.

The 23 days of the Licang session will last through Aug 26 and consists of five special areas, including the guest welcoming area, the beer tent area, the carnival amusement area, the lantern viewing and snack area, and the light and water show area.

The beer tent area features five beer tents and a beer garden. Besides the domestic Tsingtao beer, tourists can taste more than 40 brands of beer from all over the world, including the Czech Royal Lion beer and the German Paulaner beer. During the festival, many different artistic shows such as musical concerts and acrobatics performances will be staged in different beer tents.

The carnival amusement area is equipped with various thrill rides such as the pirate ship, the bumper cars and the merry-go-round. Both adults and children can enjoy themselves there.

The Qingdao Horticultural Expo Park Venue also possesses a lantern exhibition and light and water shows. Lanterns exhibited during the Fourth Qingdao Lantern Festival will be on show through the beer festival. The light and water shows will be performed at half past seven and half past eight each night. Moreover, cuisines from all around the world will be offered.

To attract more local residents and tourists to take part in the carnival, the ticket price of the venue has been reduced to 20 yuan ($2.9), 10 yuan cheaper than usual. Convenient public transportation and a large parking lot are also provided to ensure a nice and easy trip.
