Eleven foreign professionals from six countries, expert in shipbuilding, machine design, and international studies, recently visited Zhoushan in Zhejiang province.

The occasion focused on marine economy in Zhoushan.

The foreign experts visited the Marine Institute of Zhejiang University and city exhibition hall in Zhoushan to learn about the history and future development of Zhoushan.

Bayu Prabowo is a researcher at Zhejiang University. He said that the shipbuilding capacity in China is great. There are shipbuilding factories in his country Indonesia, but they do not have such advanced technology.

An expert from Japan said, “When I first came to Zhoushan, they could not build a ship of this size, but after several years, the shipbuilding technology here in Zhoushan is among the best in the world. Zhoushan is developing so fast!”

Marina from Russia said that the newly built communities in Zhoushan are a model for community building across the world. The new communities combine the natural features of Zhoushan with unique art works, a fascinating idea. Marina suggested that Zhoushan enhance its publicity work to let more people know about its beauty and charm. She hoped that more Russians will come to Zhoushan to work and travel.

An expert from Argentina said that this trip was very inspiring, adding that there are many port cities in Argentina that should communicate more with Zhoushan in terms of marine economy.
