The Qingdao trade mission has set a public exhibition area for the first time at this year's spring Canton Fair, or the 121st China Import and Export Fair, to provide a free promo platform for the city's small, medium- and micro-sized businesses not eligible for independent booths.

Covering an area of 30 square meters, the public exhibition area includes ten small, medium- and micro-sized enterprises from Qingdao, all set to gain significantly at the ongoing biannual fair.

Qingdao Xinli Metal Products Co, a company specializing in designing, producing and exporting large storage building tents, carports, party tents and container roofing shelters, reached a preliminary intent to cooperate with a Czech company with an order totaling 275,600 yuan ($40,000) and agreed with a Russian company on a $60,000 order.

Qingdao Hongming Machinery Co settled transactions worth $800,000 with a Pakistani company.

The Qingdao trade mission, led by the Qingdao Overseas Investment Service Center, will continue to help local enterprises to expand their presence at the Canton Fair and carry out international cooperation.

This year's spring Canton Fair has attracted 516 Qingdao enterprises with 1030 booths displaying many product types such as household appliances, textiles, building materials, hardware, rubber and electro mechanics.
