A big data statistical research center has been jointly set up by the Qingdao Statistical Bureau and Qingdao University, according to Qingdao Daily on March 30.

The center aims to become a comprehensive research base of financial big data integrating data exploitation, statistical study and instructions together.

The officials from the statistical bureau also said that the center has been established through school-government cooperation. In which, municipal statistic authority can play his role on data analysis and management while Qingdao University can offer services for local economic developments.

The major research content for the center focuses on the constructions of credit system, financial data analysis, health care data management, investment management and social management.

Reports resulted from the big data analysis can help the city government when formulating and implementing the related policies. The research center can also provide various fields with predictive advisory services based on big data.

An academic committee made up of statistical experts and big data research institutions are also to be built.

Experts believe that these facilities will use study of the data collection method and serve as a platform to exchange big data in domestic China and abroad.
