Thirteen Dandong projects will receive a total fund of 8.55 million yuan ($1.34 million) from the National Innovation Fund for small technology-based firms, according to the National Ministry of Science and Technology.
The city's winning national fund support is mainly due to its efforts to take a series of measures to support the technological innovation of medium-sized and small enterprises. A large number of small technology-based enterprises with great potential are developing rapidly, which will boost Dandong's sustainable and rapid development in information technology, new materials, advanced equipments and sophisticated manufacturing technology.
With the support of the national innovation fund this year, the 13 innovation projects will help realize the commercialization of research findings, the upgrading of industrial structure and the transformation of economic development patterns in Dandong.
A provincial appraising meeting was held on July 6 by Liaoning provincial Department of Science and Technology. Two research findings from Dandong were appraised as provincial scientific and technological achievements.
