The credit of banks in Dandong surpassed 60 billion yuan ($942 million) in May, 2012 after the figure reached 40 billion yuan and 50 billion yuan in 2010 and 2011, according to the Dandong municipal financial authority on June 7. This provides strong financial support to drive the economic development of the city.
By May 31, the home and foreign currency credit in Dandong's financial institutions reached 61.37 billion yuan, with an increase of 3.54 billion yuan compared with that at the beginning of this year and an increase of 680 million yuan year-on-year. With a year-on-year growth rate of 21.2 percent, the growth rate is higher than the average level of the province.
