Guizhou University of Finance and Economics (GUFE) was founded in 1958. With the development of over fifty years, it has become a multi-disciplinary university of finance and economics and includes the disciplinary categories of law, literature, science, engineering, and pedagogy. Now GUFE has a total enrollment of over 10,000 full-time students. The campus is located in Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou Province and covers an area of 5106 mu. At present, GUFE has a teaching staff of 688, among whom 435 are with senior professional titles, 473 with Ph.D. degrees or master degrees, and 180 as graduate supervisors. More than 20 teachers have won national or provincial awards for their achievements in teaching and academic research. GUFE has also invited famous experts of economics and management both from home and abroad as guest professors and part-time professors. GUFE now offers 48 bachelor degree programs covering 5 categories: liberal arts, social science, management, science, and engineering, among which there are 6 featured programs at the national level, 10 demonstrative programs at the provincial level. It also offers master degree programs, including 6 disciplines and 35 sub-disciplines and 5 professional master programs. At present, GUFE has 16 provincial-level key disciplines, 16 university-level key disciplines, 8 key disciplines with the University's special support. The University has 6 provincial research centers or bases and is the Provincial Training Base for Economics & Management Talents, approved by CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Guizhou Province. The University has 1 national-level Economics and Management Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, 1 national-level Experimental Centre of Creative Talents Development and 2 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers. The University's library has a collection of over 1.12 million books and 720, 000 electronic books, and provides the most complete reference materials for provincial conditions of Guizhou Province among Guizhou universities and colleges. |
