NE patroller and his Segway

Niu Wenfu, has come up with a different way to patrol the waiting rooms and other parts of the station for his 33th Spring Festival travel rush, China's largest annual movement -- by his Segway, the 2-wheel scooter device at the Changchun Railway Station, in Jilin province.

The 57-year-old Niu had his first experience with a Segway back in 2014, and has been working more closely with this new "fellow officer" since then. Thanks to this convenient mode of transportation, he is able to get to travelers and answer questions quicker and cut travel time in responding to emergencies.

Previously, Niu had to patrol the area on foot, walking nearly 100 kilometers a day and wearing out his socks and shoes. He says that the Segway is a good image builder for police officer and that he feels responsible for people and for making them more comfortable and approachable, then notes, "My every move can be seen by a large crowd of people, so I can't make any mistake."
