Jilin province is moving westward with its industrial check and reached the city of Songyuan, a key city in the middle part of the province, by June 9, with a team led by the head of the provincial Party committee, Bayinchaolu, who got a look at the backbone industries - oil and gas, chemical engineering, agricultural products, food processing, trade and tourism.

The city is starting 293 large projects this year, at a total cost of 104 billion yuan ($17 billion), with the focus on urban infrastructure and livelihood and helping local enterprises save energy, improve technology, do new product R&D, and expand its market shares in China.
