Lamp wick cake of Iron Crutch Li

The lamp wick cake, branded Iron Crutch Li, is one of the four famous special local cakes of Jiangxi province. Iron Crutch Li is one of the Eight Immortals in Chinese legends. It is said to be made under the recipe conferred by Iron Crutch Li, one of the Eight Immortals in the legend.

The cake is made of quality sticky rice and white sugar, supported with 30-odd rare medicinal materials. It looks pure white, sparkling and crystal. The cake is soft, and agreeably sweet. It looks like lamp wick, and may be lighted. The name implies “rising step by step in the world.” Eating the cake regularly helps to smooth body gas, invigorate circulation of blood, promote digestion and the secretion of saliva, and prolong life. It was a tribute in Ming and Qing dynasties. Emperor Qianlong praised it as "the only authentic branded cake famous in the capital city".
