Suzhou municipal science and technology bureau recently published the second batch of entrants for the 2016 Suzhou leading personnel in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Initiated in 2010, the program is aimed at providing policy and financial support to talent in emerging industries, modern service industries and agriculture from Suzhou and its subordinate counties.

Twelve qualified scientists and technicians from Zhangjiagang were among the second batch. The total winning entrants this year reached 24, ranking the first among all counties for the fifth time.

The 24 leading talents, 19 doctors and five masters, are all experts in fields ranging from new materials and energy, advanced manufacturing and digital information to the agriculture and bio-pharmaceutical industries.

The total number of entrants from Zhangjiagang amounted to 137, along with financial support worth of over 180 million yuan ($25.9 million) in recent years.

Zhangjiagang will continue to devote more efforts to talent support – by introducing more talent, offering more beneficial policies and financial support and building up a more vigorous business environment.
