A seminar on the China Drama Awards - Theoretical Criticism Award took place in Zhangjiagang's Sandbank (Shazhou) Hotel on Nov 2. Drama experts and government officials joined the event to talk about drama theory.

The seminar focused on the theme of drama theory and transmission of modern drama, during which many drama researchers and experts shared their insights on topics including the influence of drama theory on theatre troupes and artists, the current situation of theatre troupes, the achievement of drama theory and its development trend.

The Theoretical Criticism Award, initiated in 1997 and held every two years, is one of the six sub-awards of the China Drama Awards. In its fifth year, this year's event awarded nine articles that were shortlisted from 158 works around the country.

It was the first time Zhangjiagang has held such a seminar, which will support the Yangtze River Culture and Art Festival.
