A summit on autonomous vehicles sensing technology was held in Wuxi National Hi-tech district on Jan 14.

As the first of its kind nationally, the summit attracted experts and scholars from colleges and enterprises to give speeches on the development trends in the autonomous vehicles sensing technology and internet of things (IoT) industries.

Discussion also centered around intelligent car perception systems, intelligent sensors for fire safety, automatic driving comprehensive intelligent evaluation systems and supporting construction, high performance computing and its applications, industrial IoT, artificial intelligence and aerospace sensors.

Wuxi National Hi-tech district has the only National Sensor Network Innovation Demonstration Zone in China and owns the first Intelligent Sensor Industrial Park in Jiangsu province. It is supposed to lead the development of sensing technology for application in autonomous vehicles, according to the summit.

With the development of the?IoT industry in Wuxi National Hi-tech district, a public technology service platform has been built to attract and support talents and build an IoT industrial chain.

The world's first city-level Internet of Vehicle LTE-V2X (vehicle to everything) application demonstration area was presented to the public as part of the 2018 World Internt of Things Exhibition on Sept 15 in Wuxi city, with the aim of implementing IoT technologies in the city's traffic system.

And in 2019, the LTE-V2X is expected to be applied in all the areas in Wuxi. In 2020, the city is expected to become the first base for the V2X industry and the industry will be promoted throughout Jiangsu province.
