6. Disabled Participant Registration
a. For details about the registration process for disabled persons for this competition, please refer to the guidance laid out in the CAA website’s “Notice Regarding the Participation in National Marathons and Other Related Activities of Disabled Persons”:
b. Due to the conditions of the course, this competition does not have a group for wheelchair competitors, and does not support competition monitoring for wheelchair participants.
c. Disabled persons (including those not in wheelchairs) registering to participate must be of the proper age for the 2017 marathon, must meet the health requirements, and pay the registration fee according to the requirements. In addition, once the number of registrants has exceeded the limit, they will join the same lottery system as the other participants.
d. Before the start, athletes with visual impairment, hearing impairment, mental disabilities and upper limb disabilities will assemble and check in at the designated area together with the other athletes. In order to ensure the safety of non-competing wheelchair participants and other competitors, non-competing wheelchair participants are required to gather behind the mini marathon assembly area, and may start at the same time.
During the race, in order to ensure the safety of all participants, the visually impaired shall be accompanied for the whole race. It is recommended that other disabled and non-competing wheelchair participants should also be accompanied during the event. Accompanying runners must be chosen from those signed up to participate in the event. Disabled persons may apply to the organizing committee for help in recruiting an accompanying runner.
7. Registration Process
Log in to the event website → Click on “Register Now” → Choose “Register for Event” → Read and agree to the disclaimer → Fill in the information → Confirm the registration information → Pay the fee → Participants exempt from the lottery and winners of the lottery may receive their competition qualifications/ Those who are not chosen must wait to become alternates or have their money refunded.
8. Payment Method
Participants may pay through online bank transfer, Alipay, WeChat, or PayPal.
9. Alternate and Withdrawal Mechanisms
a.Participants who register successfully who cannot attend the event for some reason may withdraw. If participants withdraw before midnight on 5 February, 2017, they will have 80% of the registration fee returned to them. If participants withdraw before midnight between 6 February, 2017 and 5 March 2017, 50% of the registration fee will be returned to them. The amount will be returned to the account from which it was paid at registration within one week of applying for withdrawal. After 6 March, 2017, the fee will not be returned. With regards to charity spots, after successful registration, if a participant applies for withdrawal, the corresponding proportion of the registration fee will be returned, but all charitable donations are non-refundable
b.When a participant withdraws, the alternate at the top of the list shall take their place.
c.Participants who are alternates can apply for withdrawal before midnight on 6 March 2017. The total registration fee will be returned to the account from which it was paid at registration within one week of application for withdrawal. After 6 March 2017, alternates who are not selected to participate in the competition will have their money returned to the account from which it was paid at registration by the organizing committee within one week.
