Baotou will apply the latest information technology to the healthcare sector in order to improve the lives of patients, Baotou Daily reported on Sept 5.

More than 100 scholars, experts and business representatives attended a sub-forum of the First Belt and Road International Health Industry Forum held in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, to discuss the application of the Internet in medical treatment and healthcare.

Some hospitals in Baotou reached an initial cooperation agreement at the sub-forum with Fu Wai Hospital in Beijing, the largest hospital specializing in the treatment, prevention and research of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and complications arising from those diseases.

Internet Plus was proposed by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in a report on March 5, 2015. Internet Plus refers to the application of the Internet and information technology throughout all industrial sectors.
