Yang Jixue: CGGC vows to build the Three Gorges ship lift a world-class project

On Jan 1, Yang Jixue, president of CGGC and chairman of CGGC Limited, was interviewed on the construction site by reporters from the Xinhua Agency and Hubei TV on the construction progress of the Three Gorges ship lift, the largest one in the world.
When being asked how CGGC enhanced its capability to tackle the hard nut for the world, Mr Yang answered, to construct the largest and most complex ship lift in the world, CGGC managed to meet the requirement for high accuracy of metal structural civil works, overcome such difficulties as heavy interference of interchange construction, complex institutions and high safety risks, and introduced advanced Doka automatic climbing formwork, to make the construction easier.
Currently, the concrete grouting for tunnel body of No 1 to No 4 towers has been at full steam, part of the tail-bay has been of the designed height of 84.5 meters, and the construction of the ship lift has enter the stage of hydraulic formwork construction and grouting. He said, CGGC has created a series of world records during its construction of the Three Gorges Project, and will continue its efforts to make utmost use of advanced technologies to build the ship lift a new world-class project.
