1st turbine-generator unit of Jinghong HPP put into operation

As one of the Contractors, CGGC is responsible for the works such as access road on left bank, left abutment excavation, civil works and metal structure installation of the dam on right bank, bank protection and river dredging at downstream of left bank, auxiliary powerhouse, excavation and support of berthing area and mooring dolphin on the upstream of left bank, civil, metal structure and E & M installation of navigation structures. Jinghong HPP is the fastest built HPP of the same size in the world.
Locating in Jinghong, Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, Jinghong HPP is designed with maxi height of 108 meters, total crest length of 704.5 meters and total installed capacity of 1750MW (5*350MW).
As one of the backbone projects of Western Region Development Strategy and West-to-east Power Transmission, Jinghong HPP was started in 2003, river-closed in 2005 and plans to have all the units put into operation by 2009.
