Marriage annulled after identity trick exposed
A local court in Danjiangkou, Hubei province, recently issued a marriage annulment for a woman who begged a man to marry her, using her ex-boyfriend's identity.
The woman broke up with her ex-boyfriend in 2007 as his parents opposed the relationship.
The woman met a man who looked like her ex-boyfriend in October 2009, and begged him to marry her using the ex-boyfriend's identity.
When the ex-boyfriend went home to marry his new girlfriend in November 2009, data collected by the local civil affairs authority showed he was already married.
In March 2010, the man filed a request to a local court for the annulment of his former girlfriend's marriage. The court declared the marriage with the wrong identity to be void.
