A red-carpet foundation laying ceremony for the Ru Porcelain Cultural Industry Park was held in the city of Ruzhou, Henan province, recently.
Statistics show that Ruzhou is now home to over 60 Ru porcelain manufacturers with an annual output of 60 million pieces. The products have been sold all over the world, and the Ru porcelain cultural industry cluster has been formally established.
To further upgrade production lines and promote Ru porcelain culture, Ruzhou plans to set up a Ru Porcelain Cultural Industry Park that will integrate production, exhibition, trade, culture and tourism.
The park will cover an area of 36.2 hectares, with a construction area of 650,000 square meters. It aims to be a national cultural industry demonstration park and national intangible cultural heritage demonstration base.
According to the plan, the park will contain a Ru porcelain museum, an exhibition center, a Ru porcelain theme park, a cultural exchange center, a masters’ village, a China Ru porcelain trade center, a business street in the style of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), a hot spring hotel, supermarkets, talent apartments and more.
Upon its establishment, the top 50 Ru porcelain manufacturers and over 100 distributors in Ruzhou will settle down in the park. Ruzhou also plans to attract 200 arts and crafts distributors and related companies from other parts of China.
Also on the agenda is the effort to bring in research institutes, universities and industry societies to the park in a bid to integrate Ru porcelain production, study and research.
Ru porcelain, ranking highest among the five most famous kinds of porcelain in the Song Dynasty, together with Ru stones stone rubbing and Ru calligraphic arts, are called the “three treasures of Ruzhou”.
