Laojieling, the mountain top of Funiu Mountain, has long enjoyed a reputation for its well-preserved natural environment, its beautiful mountain peaks and towering old trees. Laojieling has been listed as a national nature reserve, as well as a 5-A scenic spot.

Laojieling covers an area of 180,000 mu (12,000 hectares). With its highest peak reaching 2.213 meters, the scenic area was listed as one of the best places to savor red leaves in Central China.

Cable cars, totaling 1,061 meters in length, were built upon Laojieling. Visitors can appreciate the steep cliffs and lofty peaks, as well as enjoy the full view of red leaves.

Laojieling Summer Resort, a four-star hotel situated in the scenic spot, has been honored as "a living house that can breathe". It is a place ideal for escaping the summer heat, and enjoying a leisurely vacation.

Recommended driving directions: Take the exit at Xixia station from the Shanghai-Shannxi Expressway. Continue following the 311 National Road to Taiping township.

Yunlu Mountain, situated in north Neixiang county, is a national 4-A scenic spot with an altitude ranging between 600 and 1,300 meters. The expansive landscape of red leaves in autumn has endowed it with the honor of being one of the most visited scenic areas for photographers from around the country.

Recommended time for appreciating red leaves in Yunlu Mountain scenic spot: Oct 20 to Nov 20.

Recommended driving directions: Drive through Shanghai-Shannxi Expressway, and exist at Zhaopo station, then take the right direction and continue to drive straight for 40 kilometers.
