Universal health care for Nanyang residents

Nanyang took five years to establish a health care system covering all local residents, including rural residents and the unemployed.

Statistics show that, by the end of 2015, the new rural cooperative medical system has covered 8.25 million residents, attaining a covering rate as high as 99.35 percent.

The new medical system has greatly eased the pressure of acquiring medical services for Nanyang residents.

Construction of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou Railway

The Zhengzhou-Wanzhou Railway has a 140 kilometer stretch that passes through Nanyang, including 19 regions such as Fangcheng county, Sheqi county, Wancheng district and Xinye county.

The construction work on Nanyang route started on June 1 of this year, and is expected to be finished in September 2019.

The new railway project will smooth transportation in Nanyang, and play an important role in improving its links with other areas of China, as well as boost the local economy.

E-card system for social security

Nanyang initiated an e-card system in October 2013 to provide social security services, which includes employment management and medical fees.

Statistics show that, by the end of August 2016, Nanyang has issued 4.52 million social security cards, winning universal praise for the improvement the system has brought to local residents' daily lives.
