The Guiyang big data sci-tech innovation city – located in the Guian New Area, in Southwest China's Guizhou province – started the construction of eight projects on March 20, representing the first batch of projects to break ground in the current year.
The projects involve office buildings, commercial complexes, hotels, residential houses, government-subsidized rental housing, schools and other support facilities, costing about 6.5 billion yuan ($1.02 billion) and involving a total area of 530 mu (35.33 hectares).
It is expected that the projects will be completed by the end of 2023. Meanwhile, it is understood that the innovation city is attracting more investments with its competitive industrial advantages.
By March 7, the innovation city had 53 registered companies, six resident companies and another 139 companies who were holding discussions with the city. By the end of this year, it aims to have attracted 400 companies, achieved an annual revenue of 3 billion yuan and have recruited 10,000 software personnel.
The Guiyang big data sci-tech innovation city covers a total area of 54 square kilometers. Its aim is to become a digital industry and talent cluster, a demonstration area for scenario-based digital applications and an exhibition area for the development of the ecological civilization in Guizhou.
By 2025, projections are that it will have constructed 2.3 million square meters of industrial buildings and 4.3 million sq m of residential buildings. It will have attracted 3,000 resident big data and related companies and that year it is projected to achieve total annual revenue of 50 billion yuan – excluding Huawei cloud.
By 2025, it is expected to have attracted 100 sci-tech innovation and public service platforms and 100,000 software personnel.
