A forum on 5G development was recently held in the National Economic and Technology Area of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, with a theme of information technology boosting regional economics.
Focusing on the theme of promoting regional economies through information technology, the forum invited representatives from colleges, enterprises, and research institutions to share views on the development status and trends of the 5G industry.
Driving the mobile internet and Internet of Things, 5G technology will facilitate deep industrial integration and promote the digital economy, said Hu Jianbo, chief engineer of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
Lyv Tingjie, a professor of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, called for clear understanding of 5G technology and said it is important to put it into practical use.
