During the 24th National Book Fair that will be held on 1-4 August, the organizing committee plans to set up Guizhou Pavilion to show off the skills of the inheritors of the provincial intangible cultural heritage, covering such areas as batik and embroidery.
Guizhou Pavilion's display has been subdivided into five themed units and the third unit, with the theme of "national folk culture", will showcase local cultural resources, helping people appreciate the relationship between national folk culture resources and publications.
Well-known batik and embroidery craftsmen will be invited to the pavilion to perform their special skills, enriching the book fair's exhibition and attracting more visitors.
Additionally, themed as "the Long History of Culture", the first unit will utilize National Library's rich collection of resources to show the development history of China's classical publications.
The second unit will select more than 2000 kinds of Guizhou to show the characteristics of local publications. The fourth unit centers on children's books and the theme of the fifth unit is "how can traditional publishing come to terms with digital transformation and upgrading".
