The 2014 Overseas Chinese Entrepreneur Conference was held on the afternoon of July 22 in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province.
More than 300 overseas Chinese businesspeople gathered in Guiyang to seek business opportunities.
The conference, organized by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, is a major move for China to support the Go-West campaign and accelerate Guizhou’s economic development.
The event is a platform for people to learn about social and economic aspects of Guizhou, with the hope that the participating overseas Chinese businesspeople will invest or start businesses in Guizhou. Meanwhile, Guizhou is going through an intense development period that can provide overseas Chinese entrepreneurs a spacious platform with many opportunities.
The conference has achieved good results so far. Seven investment agreements were signed with a total investment of 7.92 billion yuan ($1.28 billion). These projects are in the field of tourism, finance and real estate in Guiyang, Duyun, Anshun, Xingyi and Gui’an new area.
There are various after-conference tours organized by the local Guizhou governments. Those participating entrepreneurs will conduct a field trip in Guiyang, Zunyi and Qianxinan to learn more about the local investment environment.
